Its beginning to look a lot like Xmas! Well, at least I finished my Xmas present for Carlton. Carlton HATES presents. He doesn't like to get presents - because that means he might have to give a present. That might mean that he would have to consider what a person would enjoy, find said item and expend money. The Horror.
So, to spare Carlton the grief of giving - long ago we starting a "No presents - no cards - not a single thing" policy. For Xmas, birthdays, anytime. No presents. Never.
Now, this doesn't mean that Peggy can not buy herself a darn fine present or two along the way.
But, I do make Carlton a present every year. I inventory all of his municipal bond portfolio and do projected cash flows by month. It usually takes about 4 or 5 hours. And, he really appreciates and enjoys "The Gift".
And, in his defense... Carlton has been known to buy me a sewer bond or two along the way. Indeed, he has given me a gracious municipal bond portfolio over the years.
Speaking of "investing" - I have been shorting the DOW over the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately for the rest of my portfolio - the Dow shorts have been doing nicely.
