exciting downtown haarlem
Not much to say about Haarlem. Think of it as a Dutch Ballston. It is a sanitary little town about 20 minutes from Amsterdam by commuter train. It is a bedroom community for sure, but does a serious amount of tourist business as well. Mostly Americans - thanks to that pesky Rick Steves - and Germans.
