Well, the Spitzer Machine is living up to its name. After working 3 days in a row - I got up this morning. And woke up Spitzer. It was Hibernating. WiFi didn't wake up. Spitzer didn't acknowledge that it had a WiFi card or any drivers. WiFi vanished.
I soon discover that this is a well known and unfixable issue with my machine. It is unfixable because Hp refuses to admit that it is an issue. Oh they have all sorts of suggestions, update the BIOS, update the drivers, reformat and reinstall. The user community has all manner of workarounds. Most start out "First, sacrifice a goat and offer your first born to the Dark Lord..."
I just hooked the darn thing up to the LAN. And, went window shopping at Apple.com.
Also began getting my savings accounts/money market accounts at the Bank in a state of complete FDIC coverage. I have a non-trival amount that is over the FDIC limits. I have great faith in the bank that it is in - but heck - I had great faith in hubby #1 and he booked on out. Better safe etc etc etc.
