 Well,
that is a relief - it is cloudy again today. We have had
two splendid days in a row Today is our Monday. Seems like
we'll be working Sunday through Thursday. We were going
to be having three days off every other week, but that seems
to be off. It really doesn't matter to us.
Notice the lawn chair. Skagway has lots of rules about
what you can and can not do on the boardwalks and sidewalks.
Placing one's merchandise on the boardwalk would be a major
no-no. But, when Friday dawned a fine sunny day, our Hardware
store wasted no time in popping a lawn chair out on the
sidewalk. Reminds me of our DC street vendors who sell sun
glasses, umbrellas, ear muffs - depending on the weather.
The unofficial Hardware Store motto is "If we don't
have it you don't need it" I'll take you on a shopping
trip to the Skagway Hardware Co some time soon.
