am uncommonly interested in fashion. If were to live in a Muslim
country would I rather live in one like Saudi Arabia where women
wear the black abaya's or in Afghanistan where they wear those floating
blue burqas?
I have been at Dulles airport when the Royal Saudi
airliner makes its weekly (daily? who knows) transit to Riyadh.
Large chauffeured limos pull up. The driver scurries around letting
elegantly suited women out of the back. They collect crocodile hand
bags, and carefully fold black robes over their arms and depart
for the Islamic world.
I have never seen any Muslim women from Afghanistan.
At least not any that still wear the blue burqa. Most of our neighbor
Muslim women just wear the hajab - or headscarf with their traditional
(but not black) abayas. And almost all have their eyes exposed.
Maybe it is against the law to drive an SUV whilst wearing a face
veil?
