jaxon's - 23.jan.03

Yesterday was a very bad day for the living on the dying front. James and I went out for a late really bad for your heart dinner. Itinerate mariachi's showed up. James requested suitable tunes. Suitable for a funeral. Our funeral.

So far, today has been much more tranquil. There is a nurse that comes to Mom's complex every Friday. She stopped in and saw Mom at 8:00 and then again at 4:00. The nurse said that Mom had slipped during the day.

Our faithful Dora and Concha are really tired (wouldn't you be - they have worked 12 hours every day for the last 11 days?). So, they are bringing a new person online - Inga, she will work 48 solid hours - Saturday AM to Monday AM.

Best thing today. I was sitting on Mom's balcony. I hear a parrot. "Yeah Peg, a parrot." Finally, I get up to see this parrot, who I presume is really a blue jay. But, it is a parrot. An honest to goodness blue parrot. There is no picture. Capturing the parrot was more important than taking a picture. The silly parrot hopped right up on my finger. It didn't seem to belong to anyone in the complex - so, Lucy who is a woman of all work around here adopted the parrot.
