Ballot Room - The Balsams Hotel

Lovely day today. Started off foggy. We were still in bed when Carlton said "I smell blueberry muffins". So, he got dressed and went downstairs to fetch muffins, coffee and newspapers.

We drove up to Dixville. Where, if you are a political type, you know that the few crazed voters in the town gather to vote for president at the stroke of midnight. There is also a splendid old resort hotel "The Balsams" in Dixville. I could be *very* happy there. Carlton wouldn't like it if he were paying the bill. My favorite thing was the restroom. They had little racks in the stalls - and each rack had a copy of USA Today. Honest.

This afternoon we went on a small hike to take a look at Littleton from above. An altogether fine day.
