Well, the sniper thing seems to be over as far as
the killings go. Now all we have to do is listen to the talking
heads who will explain everything to us. Never thought that I would
watch the FBI arrest a tree stump on CNN! And who would have thought
that it would have been in Tacoma Washington and not the Tacoma
Park area of Washington DC.
Now, perhaps we can return to what passes for sanity
in our area. I am sure that the merchants of Halloween are relieved.
Our neighbors have their Halloween decorations up, but I haven't
noticed that anyone has new decorations - because that would have
necessitated a trip to the mall and a Michael's Store.
Mom and brother both report on a visit to Dad's grave.
The Sarge is given credit for WWII, Korea, and 'Nam service. His
stone was supposed to say "Gallant Solider, Christian Gentleman".
(That was a traditional Civil War era epitaph) But, the Army spelled
"Gallant" as "Galiant". I guess the stonecutter's
spell checker was disabled. We are happy to leave it that way.
