Still driving around and riding ferries. We survived
our night in the Bates Motel. For no apparent reason, they had no
rooms for tonight. Fortunately. We went on down the road. Now Carlton
wants to spend tomorrow night at the "Deluxe Motel" in
Hardy SC. Price $22 per night. I told Carlton that I would just
drop him off and take my butt on down the road to the nearest Holiday
Inn.
Fort Fisher NC
Today we checked out Fort Fisher at Cape Fear. It
was a Confederate Fort, mostly made of sand. Most of it is gone.
The union did overrun the fort. But, it was Mother Nature who eroded
and washed away the fort. The folks who buy the megabucks beach
houses might consider that a good winter storm or two is worse than
a fleet of gun boats.
Mosquito's. Lots of them. Even Carlton was tagged
today.
Weather started out rainy, but ended up nice and warm. Oops The
TV just went "red" saying we are having a dangerous thunderstorm
soon. So, maybe I'll unplug the computer.
