Our road trip was called on account of evil weather.
We had had a near lethal dose of "southern". South Carolina
is really really different. We had seen three statues of Strum,
don't he look lifelike, Thurmond in less than three hours. The legislature
was busy debating a "fetus memorial". One of the counties
we stayed in was getting ready to pass a law against pornographic
billboards! On the billboard front - I saw on that said "The
Anti-Christ for information call...". Imagine that. I might
be able to live in North Carolina - but not South Carolina.
Anyhow, after this lethal dose of "southern",
we were all set to head out to Tennessee and the Great Smokies.
Dollywood and the Giant Brassiere Ride. Maybe even Nashville. But
The Weather Channel indicated that we would spend most of our time
in the rain at best and in a tornado at worse. So, we called off
the road trip.
One
thing I'll miss is the Piggly Wiggly. I love saying Piggly Wiggly.
Piggly Wiggly Piggly Wiggly Piggly Wiggly Piggly Wiggly. It sounds
so south. So Driving Miss Daisy.
Going to a baby shower in Charlottesville on Saturday.
So, the road trip might restart after a slight rain delay.
