fiddler - unknown acadian music group 03.aug.03

Cloudy today.

Today was sort of a bust until the very end when we happened on a great free concert given by a group of Acadians from Prince Edwards Island. They were doing a free concert in exciting Port Hawksbury and some of the other guests at this none too classy motel told us about it.

Acadian music is much like Cajun music - not too strange since the Cajuns came from up this way. Acadians use the fiddle in place of the accordion and their feet in place of the washboard. Otherwise, it is the same.

The motel has real scary electricity. No way i am going to plug my beloved electrical toys in. The wiring was apparently done by Thomas Edison when he summered in Nova Scotia.
