It's the most ugly time of the year. Sleet, snow, freezing rain. AND pledge time on Public Television. The time of year when way old folk singers trot out their hats (men) and muumuus (women) and remind us why we didn't like folk music in the 60's. And they get audiences full of chubby cheeked aging white folk to clap and sing along with Puff the Magic Dragon.

I really and truly regret that I'll not live long enough to see rappers and grunge bands show up on PBS - say 40 years from now. That will something to see!
