Well the Iowa Caucus business is tonight. And if I haven't managed to escape to Hawaii by then the Democratic Primary in Virginia is Feb. 10. I am an old union person - so, I have to like Gephart. I think he would make a fine president - but he has about as much change of getting elected as I do. Can anyone defeat BushBoy?

The only salvation for the Democratic party is the kids. They can vote. They should vote. They have to realize that the Dick Cheney "Deficits don't matter..." is crowd mortgaging their future. They could make a difference. There is a whole bunch of kids. The advertising people worship them. Politicians worship us old farts. Old farts vote. Kids don't. Simple as that.

Along those lines - I got a little notice from the Social Security Administration telling me they noticed that I was getting along in years. They wanted me to know that I will be getting about $1,000 a month when I "retire" - but they would be running out of money in 2040. I'll be pushing 100 by 2040. So, not too worry!
