Ad on TV right now tells me that if I take Paxil drug - I'll get over "social anxiety" disorder and the "real me" can come out. Well, excuse me - but my social anxiety is the real me. I am an introvert nerd - period. It doesn't need to be "fixed".
Cloudy and rainy today. We went to the "old nude beach" (it isn't a beach for old nudes - but a beach that used to be the nude beach - until the US Park Service took it over - now it is only the nude beach on federal holidays - Easter isn't a federal holiday.) Big event at the beach was a large pod of spinner dolphins just off shore.
A little notice in today's paper noted the passing of a 58 year old man. A quote attributed to the departed: "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming 'What a Ride'".
I gotta take that to heart. I always said that the older you get the more risks you should be willing to take. If you do something risky when you are 20 - you put 60 years of life on the line. But a risk taken at 60 ...
