combs coat of arms

Like all white boys, Carlton secretly wants a Coat of Arms. A "real" coat of arms. A coat of arms that belonged to a knight who went in quest of the grail, saved damsels, etc. Well, research provided

Arms: Ermine, three lions passant in pale gules.
Crest: a dexter hand and arm embowed in armour sable, garnished or, holding a broken tilting spear of the last and wreathed about the arm gules and argent.

More research and some trusty clip art translated "Ermine, three lions passant in pale gules" into the combs coat of arms.

But, almost as good as discovering Carlton's Black Relatives is the Combs Motto: nil timere, nil temere. For those of you who didn't do Latin - that would be "Neither timid nor bold" or "Wishy-Washy". It must have sounded better in the 16th century. Imagine going into battle shouting "Wishy-washy".
