Cold rainy day today. I laid in a supply of popcorn and was planning on watching the US Senate "go nuclear". They surprised me. They acted like grown-ups. Once again Senator Warner did the right thing. Senator Warner amuses me. A man who to the best of my knowledge did nothing other than marry well - several times. He is no mental giant - but sure looks like a Senator. And every ten years or so - he acts on principal not party.

Spent a little time looking checking out my family tumbleweed. Carlton's family tree is so robust - filled with law abiding characters who got married, showed up for the census count, wrote wills, etc. My family members - well if you are a moonshiner - when the census taker comes - you go. When you are poor - there is no reason to write a will. If you were a gambler - you didn't stay around to support a family. We would have been trailer trash - if we had had a trailer. I am not even sure we were "white" trash.
