surviving katrina - girl style

At the seriously upmarket consignment shop this morning - a young woman was buying Gucci F-me sandals. Using her Katrina Red Cross debit card. She was very certain that her stuff was safe in New Orleans. And she had escaped to points north with an SUV full of stuff - so why not spend her Red Cross money on Gucci sandals? No legal reason, I am sure. But maybe a moral reason?
