Much talk on the TV about the air pollution problems caused by fireworks and firecrackers. You have to have a permit for firecrackers - but not for fireworks. A $25 permit gets you the right to buy 5,000 firecrackers. But, 5,000 firecrackers is really more like 10,000 firecrackers.

And, the best fish is up $30 a pound on Oahu. But, it will be back to normal by this time next week. The best fish is about $12 a pound on our island.

The Menu: Lunch - spam musubi and chicken katsu with pineapple. Dinner - Ham, cheese and avocado sandwiches - with lettuce and tomato salad. We are currently overrun with green bananas, not yet ready to eat avocados, and some mystery citrus fruits. Maybe lemons, maybe they are oranges, might even be grapefruits. Oh yes, and a huge thing that I think is a pomelo.
