The horror. This afternoon Carlton switchs on the TV. It was on PBS. Helmut Lotti and a orchestra was doing a version of A Whiter Shade of Pale. It was sort of funny. But, did we click off to baseball? No we watched. Like watching some sort of a creepy bug walking across the rug.

But, then it got worse. Way worse. Helmutt and his orchestra, and choir launched into Proud Mary. Shades of Pat Boone covering Little Richard's Tutti Frutti . Helmut seems to think that Mary is river boat. Like Pat thought Tutti Frutti was a flavor of chewing gum.

We had to blast Tina Turner on the stereo. With and without Ike. Sort of cleansing the audio palette.
