That fuzzy thing is an ALPACA. Our Senator, Jim Webb, paid $750,000 for half of that alpaca. I sure hope he owns the back half!
Yesterday the Wall Street Journal had an article about rich folk "farming" alpaca for huge tax write offs. The journal also said the whole thing was a Ponzi Scheme. But, I don't imagine that the rich dudes are into alpacas for the money.
Buried down in the article was a mention that Sen Webb had paid three quarters of a mil for half an alpaca. No Way.
But, a little googling turns up Jim Webb's very own
Alpaca Farm.
Check it out. It is a very elegant web site. And he admits that he paid $750,000
for half of this fuzzy thing.
That boy is no farmer. And, I sure hope all his workers
have green cards.
