unused hospital ward
Earlier this month, on my volunteer job, we went to give flu shots at an outpost of our hospital. The outpost is a largely unused old hospital. We were there very early in the morning and got sort of lost. It was like being in a bad 1950's sci fi movie. You know - the one where everyone disappears.
Two weeks from today - we'll be on the way to Kona. For "airline ticket madness" reasons, we are going from here to Seattle on Dec 1. Then on Dec 2 flying down to San Francisco and on to Kona. Even with getting a hotel room in Seattle - it will cost less than going from here to Kona directly.
I started getting ready for Kona - no I am not going to the tanning salon - I am hitting the stairs 3 or 4 times a day. Our room is on the 3rd floor - no elevator. If you need ice - its 3 floors down and back up. Want to get a newspaper - that would be 4 floors down to the street. And a trip to the beach is also 4 floors.
