Train Day

thu 3-apr-08

today has been a blur out of the window

It is thursday now. 8:15 in the morning to be exact. I have landed. Brushed my teeth, Purchased a little container of killer dutch yogurt and am sitting in a fine first class seat on the International train to brussels. The train is packed I am guessing that it might empty out - folk might be going to work in some city along the way, I'll just look out the window and see what happens.

Well, it is now 14:20 or 2:20 in the afternoon. And, I am enjoying my third fist class train of the day. The first train did empty out. And a guy came 'round selling coffee for 1,50 euros. I bought one and enjoyed it hugely - even with that strange Dutch cream. The transfer in Brussels went slick - only had 5 minutes between trains.

Now I am in Luxembourg. I had an hour between trains. So, I took a peek around out side the station - nothing says "you gotta stay here", so back to the station. I get an espresso. Then I discover that my train is in the station and people are getting on. This one is a flashy french train. Double deckered.

So far`so good for day one in Europe. Of course, I have no sleeping arrangements for tonight.

Weather report. Cloudy, sprinkles, cold today. A good day to be on the train.

Leaving the station now... Back to looking out the window.
