view from the $5 seats at Nationals Park

First in war, first in peace, last in the National League. That is what used to be said of the DC when we had the Senators. Well, we are still "Last in the National League." Not so sure about being "First" ... in peace or even war.

Actually, I am feeling pretty bleak about the future of the late great USofA. The Virginia legislature can not get itself organized enough come up with the money required to fix our roads. Of course, with the price of gas - maybe it is a non-issue. But then we should be figuring out how to pay for mass transit. Raise My Taxes. Stop the Pissing Contest. Fix the Country. Or at least Virginia.

Back to a ball game. The Nats played to Birds. We lost 9-1. And I got soaked running to to subway in the rain. But, still $5 for the seat and $2.70 for the subway. One dollar into the Red Cross donation bucket. A pretty cheap fun saturday night out. Carlton went down to visit friends in Lake Anna. I stayed home - that is how I ended up going to the ball game. Who knew they had $5 tickets? They also have $7.50 domestic beers. Well, I did without beers, cracker jacks, hotdogs... actually, in the cheap seats at least - not much eating or drinking happened. At $4.50 per can of soda ...
