After work today, I went down to the Apple Store to check out the new iPods.

First the Touch. That is the one that I went to see. The one that I wanted to love. It does lots of stuff. Plays games, gets email, surfs the web, takes notes, shows movies, and even plays music.

And, it will talk to your shoes. After playing around with it for 30 minutes or so, I am thinking that it might do too many things. Do I really want my music box to talk to my shoes? And, if it connects to the internet, so, what's to say it will not be infested by a virus? Movies look great on it - but watching movies really sucks the battery. And on a plane ride to Hawaii - I wouldn't be willing to spend my valuable battery life. And that is when I would most likely want to watch a movie. And, it doesn't have GPS.

Here we have the Classic. It plays music and shows movies. And that is about it. It is a little thinner than my beloved G4 iPod. (Which only plays music).

The classic holds twice as much as my current iPod. And has a more battery life. Cover flow is most elegant.

Movies are nice - but small. And, movies suck the life out of batteries.

Finally, the nano. I must have been the only person on the planet who liked the chunky nano, this one is the traditional shape. It does everything the classic does. Just smaller. And, the screen flips to better view movies. The colors are yummy. AND - it has kind of sharp edges. It would make are credible weapon of minor disruption.

I am thinking about the classic. I went into the store thinking about the touch.
