toxic waste
The HP TX1000 POS Computer is dead. It's hard drive has been removed and it (with its docking station and two power bricks) will be going to the next "electronic recycling" event.
The motherboard is fried. Apparently the video chip fried the board. First it killed the wifi and made booting problematic. Next it killed bluetooth. Finally it wouldn't boot at all. Not from the hard drive, not from a CD. Tech support in India told me to boot it in safemode... What part of "Will not boot" didn't "Darian" understand?
This is the backup system. The little Fujitsu with docking station. My kitchen TV is monitor and a keyboard that I found in the trash. And, my beloved bluetooth mouse. And, some external drives/DVD burners.
The little Fujitsu has been revitalized since Kona. It dual boots with XP and Ubuntu. But, I can not make Ubuntu run the TV monitor.
The backup system has successfully completed Carlton's taxes. And, I am being very careful with it. Because, now the backup computer is the iPod.
BTW - the trashroom key board is a classic IBM. Love it.
