Maybe I’ll pass on the papaya

Papayas for Miss Piggy

Out on a walk, I spied a truck full of Papayas. Upon closer inspection, it appears that they are going to be pig food. But, honestly, papaya are almost free in Kona so why not use them for pig chow.

Had shark with avocado and tomato for a late lunch today. That is as close as I came to fish today. Not trusting the ocean to be jellyfish free – I did my swimming in the pool.

  1. Seems to me two markets are helped; feeding pigs the excess of one crop improves the quality of the second.
Keeping the papapas off the market will maintain a higher retail price, more profit; increases the size and quality of the pork thereby increasing the margin of profit. Win/win situation. I like my economic theory. Zee

  2. Hi Peg,
I am enjoying your pictures. Sounds like you are having a nice time. Can’t believe it’s already been a month since you left. It COLD here now. The leaves have fallen. Time to prepare for Christmas. Wish I was there. Love the beautiful pictures. Don’t know how you live on microwave cooking for 5 mos! We are still giving out flu vaccine-down to last few 100 doses!
