Steve Jobs and Nano

This is a little spooky – just before the news of Steve Jobs’ passing broke I ordered a red Nano. With “Nobody is promised tomorrow” engraved on the back. I had my first iPod engraved. But, more recent iPod were just picked up at the Apple Store. For some reason – this evening “Nobody is promised tomorrow” seemed important enough to have lasered on my latest Apple product.

RIP – Steve.

  1. I came over to your site specifically because you always say that.

At 53 it’s very strange to say goodbye to Jobs at 56 – a good reminder to enjoy the day.

I think really only those of us who twiddled bits on giant light bulb flashing computers completely realize how ahead of the pack Jobs was with his vision. To be fair to the Woz side a lot of credit goes to the engineers and tech Jobs harnessed. Like the Hornblower novels he navigated and captained it all, fighting against incredible competition. The world awoke to what computers might do in our lives as well as our careers. If Jobs hadn’t pushed simplicity and style in computing ( who knew? grin ) we would have an uglier PC landscape today.

Smooth sailing Steve – thanks for all the fish,

    Dave
