To women of a certain age - these are the real purple
pills. At the first sign of menopause we started taking these hummers.
Why 10 years ago "they" said the pills prevented hot flashes,
osteoporosis, loss of libido, depression, wrinkles, heart attacks,
colon cancer, Alzheimer's. The pills were a virtual fountain of
youth. We were supposed to take them forever. Well, now "they"
aren't so sure. So, I decided to go off the purple pills - cold
turkey. Didn't miss them for about two weeks. Then - hot flashes
from hell. Apparently this is normal. Fortunately, I have one of
those old "funeral fans" that one found in Southern Churches
in days gone by. Mine was lifted from the Curtis Freewill Baptist
Church at Harpers Ferry.
Carlton had his new best friend - the cable guy -
over again this afternoon.
