Did I see that BushBoy mentioned Vietnam and Iraq in the same sentence? The Tet Offensive? I was in Saigon during Tet. As I recall, after Tet the general population realized that something was very wrong. Main thing wrong in 'Nam was we were clueless about what the war was about and we were backing the wrong side. The main thing wrong with Iraq is everything. Saddam, for what ever we think about him, did a better job of running the country than we are.

In 'Nam we were able to "declare victory and leave" and the country turned out fine. I fear in Iraq we'll have to "declare defeat and leave" and county will continue on a downward spiral of anarchy. Until another dictator or two or three beats the region into submission. Thanks a bunch BushBoy. Thanks a bunch.
