Skagway
Hardware
The Skagway Hardware Store
should be a stop on any tour of Skagway. Owned the Lingle family since
1962 - this local institution is our local version of Home Depot with
a dose of WalMart for good measure. Their motto is "If we don't have
it - you don't need it"
If you spend a summer in town,
you can get fishing gear, duct tape, a can opener, motor oil, a television,
lawn chairs, beach towels, - what ever you might need. If you are a fussy
old lady and decide that your shower curtain is "gross" - they
got those.
Setting
up housekeeping in Skagway? Skagway Hardware has lumber, washers, stoves,
sofas and tables, paint, plumbing supplies. And kids toys, plus a modest
collection of office and computer supplies. They also have hammers, nails,
boats, and casserole dishes.
The store is opened year round
- but they do take July 4th off for a tasteful patriotic observance.
