norfolk and western office building now apartments

Got on the road early for us - 8am. Drove down Skyline Drive some of the way. Saw lots of deer.

Arrived in Roanoke. Found the Norfolk and Western Office Building now apartment complex. Really charming apartments. And most reasonable prices. (To us DC types). Downtown Roanoke is trying really hard to be trendy. It does not quite make it. Downtown is a work in progress.

But all in all we were impressed. The airport seems to be workable. It is very near downtown and would be like going out of National Airport. Meaning you have to change planes. But we usually use National anyhow. Because it is easier to get to.

We were going to a baseball game tonight be decided to check out downtown later in the day to see if it still seemed safe.

Tomorrow it is on to Asheville.
