Cheese Auction - Alkmaar - 29.jul.05

At this point Doris and I became mad tourist women and spent all day every day walking and sightseeing. And eating. And drinking. Blogging sort of fell by the way side. But, I did take pictures. So, to fill in the missing days - a photo or two.

On Friday, Doris and I went to Alkmaar to take in the weekly cheese auction. The auction is legit. It is a wholesale cheese auction, but in the summer it is seriously jazzed up for the tourist trade with the porters forsake their fork lifts and denims for muscle power and period clothing.
