Eastern European Street Musicians - Utrecht - 30.jul.05

Saturday was a fine sunny day and Pam suggested a trip to Utrecht. This part of the world is filled with street musicians from the former Soviet Republic. Democracy has no budget for state musicians. So, they try to support themselves by playing on street corners. The big triangle string instrument made this group interesting.

And, some of the Dutch train stations have what we used to call "automats". I know there is one in the Smithsonian cafeteria area - but I don't think it works any more. But, the Dutch ones do - in case you are in dire need of a kipburger - that would be a chicken burger.
