carlton yelling
Getting ready to head out to Carlton's 50th class reunion on Thrusday. To that end, I will not:
- Call the Virgina Tech Corps of Cadets - The Hitler Youth.
- Ask Carlton "Just who elected you 'Best Lover' in what was essentially a boys school?
- Wonder out loud what the difference was between The Hitler Youth and the Boy Scouts.
- Inquire as to how this or that school boy activity was supposed to make them "better fighting machines".
It will not be easy - but, I'll try. (I went to a small commuter college. We went to our jobs and to our classes. And didn't have dances, dorms, class rings, year books, clubs or any other the things that seemed to matter to Carlton. We did manage to avoid the draft.)
